Woodstock

Oh yeah, and we were up so late watching woodstock that the end of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" actually made sense.

Saturday Vacation

This is one of the three weekends I have off this summer, and the weather cooperated! I have a week-and-a-half off this time around, and I'm staying here for most of it. My dad and stepmom are flying up for a quick visit next week, and then the weekend after I'm heading to Yellowknife, provided I can hitch a ride there for nothing! $930 is too much to spend ona return ticket for only three nights' visit.

Michelle and I stayed up late last night watching Woodstock, and I forgot what a great movie it was! My favourite performance was Crosy Still & Nash; great harmonies, and when you really listen, David Crosby doesn't seem as out of place as you'd think.

Today, we started to head down the goat trail for a quick hike into Schooner Canyon, but it was way too slippery and wet, so we did the Collarbone and Valleyview Trails instead. Afterwards, we took Luna to DOT Lake for her swim, then came home and chilled around the campfire and grilled some burgers. Mmmmm.....

At the Bottom of the Goat Trail

I got bored one night and decided to take Luna down the Goat Trail.

As you can see below, there were a ton of mosquitos, they're all over Luna.

Mackenzie River Breakup 2009 - Time-Lapse

I've been experimenting with time-lapse photography since I bought my used Canon 5D a few months ago. Here's a video I put together featuring the Mackenzie River at Norman Wells Northwest Territories.

Unfortunately, I missed the actual breaking up part, as at the time I had only one battery and had to charge it overnight the first night. So I missed about five hours' worth, but the rest turned out really well, and I learned what to do differently for my next major project.

First Post

Hi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to read my blog. This is my first post, and it will be short. The first one is always the lamest, and when you read it later, you just shake your head and say, "Man, that was weak."

And we'll leave it at that.
